“FIRST (Firearm Instruction, Responsibility, and Safety Training) Steps” is a program the NRA developed to provide firearms orientation for new gun purchasers and users. This FIRST Steps program is a basic course that focuses on the most fundamental shooting for a particular model of pistol.
Students will receive the NRA's The Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook with quick practical lessons on the safe use, cleaning, and storage of their pistol. Students will participate in a supervised practical exercise for a single pistol shooting position. Students will shoot one-on-one with an instructor at the range.

This course is at least 8-hours long. It includes classroom and range time, learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, an NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, a Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, and a course completion certificate.

This is a 4-hour course for safe gun handling that is conducted in the classroom only. Students are taught NRA’s three rules for safe gun handling; primary causes of firearms accidents; firearm parts; how to unload certain action types; ammunition components; cleaning; care; safe storage of firearms in the home; and the benefits of becoming an active participant in the shooting sports. Students will receive the NRA Home Firearm Safety handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Basic Firearm Training Program brochure, and a course completion certificate.

The NRA Metallic Reloading Class allows shooters to save money and help the environment by recycling. Our class takes place is a safe, comfortable environment that fosters knowledge and skill and allows students to proceed at their own pace. Students learn the fundamentals of metallic cartridge loading for both pistols and rifles. Each step in the loading process is covered, from setting up the press and adjusting the dies to cleaning brass. This is an 8 hour, all-day course. Class size is limited. Hands-on instruction. At the end of the day you have a 100 rounds of 9mm, 40 S&W, .38 Special, or 45 ACP ammunition that you made.
